The Seed
A seed is planted
Buried quite deep
Hidden in darkness
For many weeks.
Moisture softens it
And roots creep forth
Sending up a shaft
In search of light.
Black earth parts.
Two little leaves peek forth
Like eyes in the night
That reflect the light.
Oh what change
The light does bring!
Darkness replaced
By the colour of life.
Sunlight sparkles
Through the dew
And dances across
Meadows without ado.
Leaves reach up
For a better peek
At surrounding life
Keeping it meek.
A daisy smiles
A tall fern shivers
And through shadows
Gentle light shimmers.
Oh what shall I be
The tiny plant utters
A daisy…A fern…
Or what else it stutters?
A gentle voice speaks
And away go the stutters.
Be yourself… I love you so
And I will help you to grow.
You see, Tis I
Who formed You so.
I want you to know
My love caused you to grow.
So be at peace
And you will grow
In my garden
Of love and grace.
Together we will live
In this earthly race.
I will watch over you
Even if at a hectic pace
I am Faithful
And never fail.
Trust in Me.
I am the Light you know.
My name is Jesus.
I invite you to share
My heavenly kingdom
Many are there….
