The Mystery of Life
Is life happiness, joyful and fair?
Is it a kingdom of love and despair?
Is it a mountain big and tall?
Or a deep valley rich and clean?
Where does life start?
Where does it end?
Life is like a stream
It starts from above
It sprinkles on maintain tops
A veil, a sparkling sheen
It spins and twists
Forming little rivulets racing down.
Down it tumbles and laughs with glee
Into a hollow, ‘neath a tree
Oh how awful to stop such fun
Now trapped, the end of a happy run
But the hollow fills and water spills forth
Down to the valley floor, a race like before
Around the bends, expectations high
What comes next, excited sigh?
Breathe taking tumble, down waterfall high
Oh what a trip like a surfers cry
What next, oh no another hollow
Oh how awful and boring too
Excitement stops, boredom the norm
Now a wind comes howling along
Lifting me up and dashing me down
Will it never stop, is my thought
The wind dies, crashing waves a ripple
What is life, who can know?
Life started long before time
It was a thought from Love Divine
Nothing was spared in its conception
Purpose, joy, peace, the fullness of love
Excitement and beauty beyond compare
Comfort and free will to declare
Now Love Divine, with all wisdom combined
Sent life from above with lips of love
Cascading joy a lopsided life
Like a wind blown tree, only branches in lee
Thus the hollows to round out life
A time of rest, to settle all doubt
Then on with the race
At a slower pace
The valley so green with much to glean
A time of growth both wide and deep
A time of reflection
What is your direction?
A water fall high, multiplied joys combined
Then a hollow, now huge and deep
Life seems stagnate, a deadened pace
Then the wind a beating we face
But look, infusing oxygen, stagnation gone
Like someone knew all along
That is life, the truth so clear
Heavenly gift from Gods own hand
Grafted with love to build one strong
Excitement but discipline all factored in
To build a strong vessel, all impurity gone
A soul prepared for eternal life.
