Godly Parents

Love sweeps gently in the evening mist.
The young couple embrace with a heart felt kiss.
Their wedding will soon take place.
A life together eager to face.
Work and responsibilities wanting to share
Laughter and joy no good thing to spare
Eager to start a family with loving care
As the months slip by new life begins
Excitedly preparing for the new little face
Their submission to the human race
Pain gives way, A new life to embrace
Mother is tired and Dad is ecstatic
How quickly baby grows and steals the show
Soon to walk and oh the toothless talk.
Well time passes quickly along
No longer does mom sing a gentle song
No longer does Dad pull the sleigh or toss the ball
Many faith filled prayers and Gods Grace
Will guide them through all they face
Children seldom realize parental love in its fullness
But that will come as they take their place
Their own little ones to lovingly chase
Love is like that, giving to give, not to receive
Never counting personal opportunities lost
Sacrificing much, No counting the cost
Why do parents do it? Most never know!
But we are made by Jesus in Gods own image
The Holy Bible clearly shows
God gives us His all, through Jesus his Son
His life God gave us, so none would be lost.
Such sacrifice who can comprehend
But now through Jesus He is able to mend
Even our children the world tries to bend
Good parents are Godly and now you know why
Patiently waiting, persevering to the end.
