Salvation: From a Christian Perspective

The people of the world say there are many ways to attain eternal life.  Many are the teachings and beliefs of what and where this final destiny exists and how it is achieved.
Before going any further one should pause and reflect on all the false or misleading information they have been exposed to.  Information, believed and acted on, only find out that it was wrong.
A simple example of this would involve Christopher Columbus, the famous explorer, hundreds of years ago.  In his day It was taught and believed by religious leaders, scholars and society that the world was flat.  If you dared to say it was round, Like Columbus claimed, You would have been laughed at and ridiculed as very wrong.
Well whether the world was flat or round is really not the issue.  What the issue is, truth is truth, regardless of what any or all people say.  Truth is not altered by mans opinions and beliefs.  If you believe truth you are right, If you disagree with truth you are wrong.  There is no middle ground only deception for the deceived.
Jesus the Christ (Saviour the Anointed One) said in the gospel of John 14:6, “I am the way and the truth and the life no one comes to the Father except through me”. Jesus further stated in John 6:46, “No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him”.  In verse 45 he states “Everyone who listens to the Father and learns from Him comes to me”.
The book of Acts 4:12 states, “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved”.
These are very clear statements.  God has made is very simple and very clear who Jesus is.  He also makes it very clear of who man is in Romans 8:6&7, “The mind of sinful man is death but the mind controlled but the spirit is life and peace; the sinful mind is hostile to God. . It does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so.”.
Gods word also warns man in Proverbs 14:12, “there is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death.”
For people unfamiliar with the bible these are challenging statements.  However, to simply scoff and move on would be a deadly error.  Wisdom beckons you to read on.  Indifference and fear stops the growth of knowledge.  God warns us in Hosea 4:6, “My people perish from lack of knowledge”.
If you have read this far, then God is drawing you to Jesus (John 6:44).  Jesus warns us in Matthew 11:12, “From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has been forcefully advancing and forceful men lay hold of it”.  This warns you that there are mental and spiritual forces that are trying to discourage you and keep you from getting saved.  The weak of mind and corrupt of spirit will fight against you, committing your life to Jesus by faith. For those who want truth and to live in it please read on.
Romans 8:28-39 reads as follows, “And we know that in all things God works for the Good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.  For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to be the firstborn among many brothers.  And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified he also glorified. What then shall we say in response to this?  If God is for us who can be against us?  He who did not spare his own son, but have Him up for all of us- how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?  Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen?  It is God who justifies. Who is He that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died- more than that, who was raised to life- is at the right hand on God and is also interceding for us.  Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: ‘For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered’ No, in all things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.  For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height not depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
God requires man to make a conscientious choice on whether they want to become one of His sons.  It does not just happen.  We have to believe Gods word about His only begotten son, Christ Jesus, and by faith call on his name for our sins to be washed away, forever by his shed blood of Calvery, the cross.
Here are the scripture verses to back up the previous paragraph.  John 3:16-21 (Jesus Talking), “For God so loved the world that He gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting Life.  For God did not send His son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.  Whoever believes in Him is not condemned but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only son”.
Why do we have to believe in Jesus to be able to live in eternity with God through Jesus? The following scripture explains why this is necessary.
1 Corinthians 15:21&22 states, “For since death (disobedience to God’s will) came through a man, the resurrection (new life) of the dead comes through a man.  For as in Adam all died, so in Christ all will be made alive”. Romans 5:8&9 “But God demonstrates His own love for us in this:  While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.  Since we now have been justified by His blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through Him”.
Romans 4:24&25- helps explain how God has dealt with the sin issue of man. “God will credit righteousness (right standing) for us who believe in Him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead.  He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification”.
In Romans 10:9-13 it is summed up. “That if you confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.  For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved”. As the scripture says, “Anyone who trusts in Him will never be put to shame”  For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile- the same Lord is Lord of all and richly bless all who call on him, for “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord (Jesus) will be saved”.
As Jesus said to the apostle Paul on the road to Damascus in Acts 26:18, “I am sending you to them to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God , so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me”.
The word teaches us, that Jesus is also our Holiness.  Hebrews 13:12, “And so Jesus also suffered outside the city gate to make the people holy through his own blood”.
We further note from Acts 13:38&39 that faith in Jesus gives us our justification to enter God’s presence. Therefore my brothers, I want you to know that through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you.  Through Him everyone who believes is justified from everything you could not be justified by the law of Moses.
Be careful to take serious and believe what God says to us through the Bible.  Seriously note verse 40, “Take care what the prophets have said does not happen to you: Look, you scoffers, wonder and perish, for I am going to do something in your days, that You would never believe, even if someone told you”.
Almighty God the creator through Jesus (John1:1) says what He means and means what He says.  So it is your choice, believe His word, by faith in Jesus His only begotten son (not an angel) and receive His gift of eternal life with Him or try it mans way (There is a way that seem right to a man but in the end it leads to death. Proverbs 14:12). Revelation 20:15 if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life he was thrown into the lake of fire.
Chapter 21 in the book of Revelation gives insight into heaven and the destiny of man.  The final verse 27 once again warns us that, “only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of Life will be saved”. Jesus is referred to as the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the earth (John 1:29).
Conclusion:
Simply put we have a choice in life to make.  We can believe in who Jesus is and was and ask Him by faith to save us and be our Lord or we can continue to do it mans way and perish (eternally separated from God).
To understand faith and what it means, read chapter 11of the book of Hebrews.  To help you understand what it is to be a Christian read 1 John, all five chapters.
If you choose life and ask Jesus to save you then study the book of John.  To start to become grounded so evil will not deceive you and cause you to turn back to your old ways.
Pray (simply talk to Jesus, He is with you) In Spirit and will never leave or forsake you.  Ask Jesus to lead you to other Christians for fellowship.
